Project Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for managing multiple assigned projects from signed contract to client delivery. The PM leverages knowledge of the industry and experience to lead technicians, coordinate with contractors, trades and other project stakeholders to plan, schedule and complete the project scope. The PM manages the relationship with the client and representatives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Including but not limited to)
- Review assigned projects with Sales & Design during project handoff meetings to understand project scope and budget, client expectations, project stakeholders, timing and staffing requirements.
- Communicate with engineering, installation and programming personnel to develop a clear expectation and scope of work for projects.
- Develop a plan to complete assigned projects to meet the objectives of quality, efficiency and superior craftsmanship.
- Establish relationships with clients, trade partners and project stakeholders and proactively communicate with all parties to effectively execute work.
- Manage the install calendar and create work orders for Technicians.
- Monitor labor hours on projects, track time, review and approve time sheets, and discuss potential overages with Operations Manager in a timely manner.
- Organize and direct the work of technicians and subcontractors while managing any health and safety concerns.
- Ensure accuracy of system proposal and documentation through the life cycle of the project. Work with the design team to create revisions and change orders and deliver updated documentation to stakeholders as necessary.
- Conduct pre-installation site-surveys and strategize equipment placement and cable-pull considerations.
- Ensure the project is in the correct billing stage and maintain notifications to AR through the life of the project.
- Take accountability for timing and coordination with Purchasing to acquire and stage equipment and parts in a timely manner.
- Ensure photographs of wiring and system installation are labeled & uploaded in the G-drive project folder promptly after completion of project phases.
- Provide updates of project progress and potential issues impacting the project to Operations. Ensure that daily Trello updates of all assigned projects to provide a snapshot of current project status and necessary action items.
- Communicate with the client regarding scheduling and progress updates, decisions needed by client, and any changes the client needs to be aware of.
- Determine timing and scheduling of project QC.
- Determine timing and organization of and/or conduct client system training.
- Provide high-level customer service through timely and thoughtful communications with client/representatives regarding scheduling, progress, decisions needed from client, and any changes client needs to be aware of.
- Conduct bi-weekly project meetings to review projects with management and bi-weekly meetings with accounting.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to visualize the sequence of work and convert it into a measurable plan and schedule
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical documents.
- Ability to perform calculations, analyze reports
- Proficient at the use of a computer and good working knowledge of word processing and data entry software.
- Ability to do advanced project scheduling and forecasting of resource requirements
- Required Certifications: Savant Fundamentals with BluePrint, Parasol Pioneer Program, Control 4 Associate Installer, Savant Troubleshooting, Control 4 Automation Programmer, Control 4/SnapAV PCNA
- Additional Certifications: PMP certification (preferred), Cedia ESC certification.
