4-elements-that-put-the-luxury-in-luxury-home-theater

Have the most incredible viewing experience of your life in a dedicated cinema

A dedicated home cinema blends the best of both worlds when it comes to movie viewing. You can have all the comforts and conveniences of home (no need to change out of your PJs for a film) combined with the awe-inspiring sounds and visuals of a professionally designed commercial theater.

If you’re upgrading your Boulder, CO, home with a private theater, what components are necessary to ensure your setup delivers on all the advantages listed above — comfort, convenience, and performance? We have your answers here! Keep reading to learn four elements you need to build an incredible luxury home theater

A 100” (Or Larger) Screen

Watch all your movies, TV shows, and sporting events in lifelike detail with a larger-than-life screen. If space allows, there’s no better viewing experience than a 4K UHD projector paired with a 100” or larger projection screen that displays your media in sharp, rich detail. Even some TVs can now match the size of projection screens — Sony recently released a 100” 4K HDR TV that would look stunning in your theater room.

Immersive Surround Sound

Good visuals are only half of the viewing experience — audio is just as (if not more) important than the screen in your home theater. We recommend 3D audio with a 5.1.2 or 7.1.2 speaker setup and Dolby Atmos or DTS:X formatting. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X distribute sound to appear all around you for the most immersive listening experience. For example, if a high-speed chase is blasting across the screen from right to left, you’ll hear the audio travel from right to left across your theater as well. Or, if a plane is flying over the main character’s head onscreen, you’ll hear the jet engines above your own head as well. 3D audio creates a truly immersive and dynamic sound experience that places you directly in the center of the action.

Plush Seating

Many people overlook the importance of seating during the theater design process. But think of it this way: how much back pain, neck pain, and general discomfort do you suffer if you spend all day in a poorly designed chair in the office? So, keep that in mind during your selection — you need seating that’s cushiony, supportive, and ergonomically sound to keep you comfortable for several hours during a film, all-day gaming session, or Netflix binge.

Today’s theater seats come with multiple options for customization — reclining features, cupholders and snack trays, headrests, and footrests, charging stations, built-in LED lights, built-in massage, and more. Additionally, you’ll be able to choose between different fabric and color options to match your theater décor.

Theater Automation

One of the luxuries of going to the theater is not having to do anything to set the environment for optimal movie viewing. Theater automation helps you create the same curated theater environment at home, with minimal effort required to activate it when you’re ready to watch something. A home automation system brings all your theater elements together under centralized control — you can operate and adjust the screen, sound system, lighting, shades, climate, and media sources from a single platform on your smartphone or tabletop tablet.

Automation eliminates the hassle of readjusting all your theater devices when switching activities. For example, you probably have different sound, light, and media source settings when you’re watching a movie versus playing a video game. With a home automation system, you can create custom settings for all your theater activities and activate them automatically with the press of a button. So, when you sit down and press “Watch Movie,” the screen will unroll, the surround sound will power up, and the lights will dim to set the mood.
